Aww thank you everyone and Lisa for starting the post.

I have been having terrible abdominal pain all last night with sickness and all I can think of is that the Crohn's is playing up again which scares the life out of me after last time.

I have been to the docs today and they have done some urgent blood tests which I need to ring up about in the next 30 minutes. This will help determine if the Crohn's is active again or I simply have something like gastroenteritis. I say simply, even though I know this is not good either, but rather that than end up back in hospital again!

I have just got out of bed after having a few hours sleep so will call the docs and update soon.

I was supposed to be working my second day at work today and have had to cancel that as well so it doesn't look good - even though I can't help being ill.

I am so hungry as well and daren't eat yet until I know what is going on.

Thanks for all the get well wishes.

I have spoken to the doctor and the blood tests are fine in terms of the Crohn's markers that they do so it is most probably gastroenteritis.

He said if I get any worse just to go to hospital so they can do scans etc but he thinks that it is unlikely to be a Crohn's flare up

I am so relieved :yesyes:

I can deal with "normal" illnesses much better.

The pain isn't too bad at the moment and I am having some soup so hoepfully it will all settle down in a few days.

I have had some toast now - just eating plain food for a few days.

Stil got a lot of pain but haven't been sick again so that is good.

Aww so sorry that you're not well Nic.

Hopefully you will get better real soon, i know how worrying it is when you're not sure if it is the crohns flaring up again, and yes gastro is horrendous enough but understand why you're probably relieved that it is that and not the crohns.

My poor mate, you end up catching anything that is going round.

I think I must have caught it up the hospital on Wednesday as I was up there for over 3 hours so loads of chance to pick something up!

I am still in a lot of pain but I will be ok in a few days.
