Hello,

I have a question concerning Paroxetine/Seroxat. I am from Germany and I will be moving to the UK in a couple of weeks. I am not familiar with the NHS and the Health System in general in the UK yet so I would be very grateful if you could help me.
I know I will have to register with a General Practioner and my question is wether he or she is entitled to prescribe this medicine or if he will transfer me to a medical specialist and if you think I am going to need a confirmation from my German doctor that I'm taking this medication. I also would like to know how much one has to pay for it.

Thank you very much in advance for your help! :)

Hi Silk, your new general practitioner (GP) will be able to prescribe Seroxat for you. I don't think you'll need to prove you've had it before, just tell them that you have. It would be sensible to bring a supply with you so you have plenty of time to get organised over here. If you are moving to England, a prescription will be £7.40 (just over €8). Most doctors would probably give you two months' supply at a time, I think.

Good luck with the move x
