I hate these viruses! I have had a cold coming on and off for about a week kept getting bunged nose and tickly throat on and off but on Tuesday the really bad razer blades in throat struck, agony to swallow and since then very hoarse voice and if I talk I cough myself nearly sick. I am very prone to this and know that it will get worse yet:weep::weep:. I usually end up with a terrible tickly cough for couple of weeks and can't socialise as its so embarrasing.

I am drinking lots of hot drinks to try and soothe my throat, I hate honey so can't take that.

Any other ideas???

I also tend to panic after a few days and think I have a chest infection and rush to Drs so am trying NOT to do that this time:blush:

Have heard of them but not something I can get from your regular pharmacist!

The cough is gathering pace:weep::weep:

No idea where to tell you to look in the UK. Really would have thought the Chemist would carry them, you guys seem to have more natural remedies than we do. Here we have to get them at a Health food store. Maybe if you can find some to store for the next time, they really do work with no ucky side effects. The only other thing I can think of would be a salt water gargle and a nettie pot to thin the secretions so they will stop irritating your throat more. Feel better soon.
