Hi,

Anyone else suffered with this before? Was diagnosed with blocked eustachian tubes a couple of months ago but still struggling especially with fullness of ears (want to pop but they don't) for last few weeks. Starting to worry me as it isn't going and getting me down, any suggestions??

horrible .........get it often .

steam is the answer for me ..............hot bath running or shower and close door .inhale lots through nose .

also good old fashioned menthol crystals dissolved in hot water and towel over your head .
dont overdo it .eyes stream !!!! works though .
lots of remedies in boots as well .ask pharmacist ..my son swears by the vick inhalor . xxx

Thanks Snowgoose,

Ironically i was just carrying out some steam inhalations. I do find that they work for any pains around eyes, blocked up nose, etc but they don't seem to cure the ear fullness sensation. Feel like they want to pop but they just don't!!!

perhaps visit your doc Pete .sometimes steroid inhalors and tabs are needed to shift the dratted thing .

it is annoying .........hate it ...........my ear pops eventually and everyone sighs and says thank god she has stopped shouting . I CAN HEAR :winks:
dont worry though it can be helped .......see doc xx

I think with ear stuff it can take a while to clear up build up, you might need many repeated steam sessions etc. Even then I don't know if that'd do the trick. So I'd carry on with that but take snowgoose's advice and see the doc.

It sounds awful, but hope it'll clear soon :)

Thanks everyone for the advice. Been to see the nurse again today (already been to the doctors a couple of times). Not much she can do, ears look dull and very congested - kind of guessed that based on how they feel. Bad day - couldn't really concentrate at work.

Tried two different types of inhaler, antibiotics and hayfever tablets for last 2 months hoping that it has caused the inflammation. She has advised to go back and see the doctor which I will on Friday and then will probably be referred to the ENT specialist. Getting to the stage now where I am beginning to worry that it is something more sinister - I hate the way your mind does that.

Well more blood tests and weeks later and it still persists!!! Got another docs appointment on Friday so i am really hoping that i finally get a referral to the ENT specialist as this is driving me crazy. Starting to get worried now and i certainly don't want to be putting my symptoms into Google.....

I suffer with blocked valves and some pressure. Its so annoying. When Im congested and hear any form of noise I get a sticky popping. It drives me mad when im standing next to passing cars because it really goes for it. Starts to sound like buzzing.

Im sure you are fine. Let us know what they say x x x

I have tube issues when the weather changed.

I ended up seeing an ENT and apparently one of my sinus infections affected my ear and made it full and made me dizzy. It ended up going away though.

I hope you feel better soon.

I know you could get your ears cleaned, but could you get your sinuses flushed?
I saw it on an episode of House  The guy was a sleep while they cleaned out his sinuses. Just something you could ask about or look into.

I started using boiling water in a cup , half filled, then I put my ear over it and let the steam do it's work, I'm not sure if it works but just something I have been recently trying out.

Well, doctor has referred me to an ENT specialist. Just need to see how long that takes but at least seem to be making some progress. Bad day today, thought my head was going to burst with the pressure at one point :weep:
