Hi,

What is difference between SNRI and SSRI? Is it same both of drugs? Please clarify

Hi Ms SSRI's work on maintaining the level of one chemical in the brain - serotonin. SNRIs work on two - serotonin and norepinephrine.

So I suppose an SNRI is an SSRI with something extra. I have no experience of taking SNRIs but hopes this helps a little x

They are not the same, but they are similar types of medicines. SNRIs are newer type that inhibit the norepinephrine neurotransmitter in addition to inhibiting serotonin. SSRIs are far more used today
