Hi wondered if anybody could offer me any advice please.

Back in January my doc gave me paroxetine, still too scared to start taking them, but I am getting no better. I have got to do something very soon as the children are missing out on so much!

School runs and local shop is all I can manage lately.

My husband says I should try to see a hypnotist first but I am so confused dont know what to do.

Any advice greatly received!

Lisa,

I have been on paroxetine for many many years. It saved me. I have issues with anxiety, panic and ocd. I tried going off of it and it all came back so returned to it. I am on the lowest dose so for me I don't have to take much. I saw a hypnotist once for anxiety and I could go under, well I say once I actually saw her more than once but couldn't go under more than once. It didn't work for me. I've tried everything and most of the ssri's. Paroxitine worked for me for my anxiety. I don't know exactly what issues you have but I wouldn't totally rule out taking the medicine if the doctor thought you needed them. Not only are the children missing out but you are too! Think of you.

Hi

Paroxetine worked for me too !!!! Came off it a year ago and all symptoms returned. GP would not prescribe it again and since have been on Cipralex which does nothing for me.

Good luck x

Thanks for the kind advice.

I forgot to ask what the side effects were like?

I think next week I am going to be brave and start, with the summer approaching I would love to be able to take the children to the beach.

Thanks once again

Can you afford a therapist? My advice would be to get to the route of the problem rather than taking medication.

I do agree with raverbaby that is my only side effect but I think most ssri's do that except for wellbutrin which I don't know what they call that in the UK, sorry.

Squirrel, don't mean to be nosey but are you in therapy now and is it working as you don't feel well since off paxil?
