suddenly stopping Citalopram

Hi

I have been on 40mg of cit for 7 weeks but have had to stop suddenly due to major health issues, doctor has told me I should be okay to just stop, am on 7th day now without and only slight dizziness and insomnia so far. Anyone know what the usual time is for withdrawal symptoms to start?? Have I been quite lucky and will hopefully not suffer???

You sound like you won't get any side affects. I've read a huge amount lately and not everyone gets affected.

I think you will get withdrawal symptoms if you got them when starting it.

Can I ask why you have to stop them so suddenly?

Hi

I was having terrible suicidal thoughts which psychiatrist put down to citalopram, apparently it is on od the side effects and it seems they were having the opposite effect on my anxiety and making it 10 times worse. I was hoping I had got away with the withdrawal effects seen as I had been off them a week now.
