Fluox (Prozac) and weight gain

Hi there,

I have been taking Fluox for the last 8 months (20mg daily) and in the first few months I noticed that I lost all the excess weight I had gained since the onset of my depressive episode. However, in the last month or so I seem to have gained it all back, and although I feel better emotionally, I don´t seem to get that "rush" I used to get waking up in the morning when I first started feeling the effects of fluox.

I have taken e recreationally a couple of times in the last 8 months, but I doubt this would have had an effect on the fluox as they were minuscule doses.

ANyway, hope someone out there can share their experiences on this! Thanks :)

Whilst I don't think the recreational E has affected your weight , I do think you're playing with fire.
One mood altering drug at a time is enough for the brain to cope with, however - your choice.

It is a common side effect for SSRI s to enable significant weight changes.
