Escitalopram or citalopram
I have been told by a CBT course that Escitalopram is better to take than citalopram for panic attacks. they said citalopram is more for depression NOT panics ?
Can anyone verify this ?
Been taking citalopram now for 10 years 20mg, my panics have calmed down abit but my anxiety is still bad.
Would i benefit changing tablets or look into propanalol

Re: Escitalopram or citalopram
Hi MasterMark, I suffer from extreme anxiety/panic disorder with some d epression..I was on lexapro years ago and it helped, I was not in as bad of shape as I am now. I went on cit and tried it for 4 months, very slowly, as I am very med sensitive. Was up to 10mg for 2 months, it helped a bit and then I went backwards, felt awful, so my doc switched me to 5mg lexapro (escit) , it has only been 9 days, so I can't give you a opinion yet, still feeling pretty bad..For some escit has less side effects and it did work for me before, so I would vote for escit...good luck, Debbie
