Looking for peace of mind...

Last week, I ate a can of tuna that was opened in the fridge. Thought one of the kids had opened it but found out later that noone knew how long it was opened for. My first fear was botulism. Now a week later, I have been running to the bathroom for 2 days (probably IBS) but can't get my mind away from the botulism thing. I am sure I would have shown signs before now...I hate feeling this way...The logical part of your brain telling you it is nothing to worry about but the rest of your brain living in dread...

hi ya well if it was off hun u would certanly know by smell and taste and also you would be ill same day or day after usually very soon after, so u r fine please dont panic xxxxxxxx

hiya hun, i totaly agree with donna, if that tuna was off you would have known by the smell or taste, gone of fish stinks to high heaven you would have smelled it when you opened ur fridge. and almost certainly your body would have been rejecting it within 24 hours of eating it from either end. honestly hun you are fine and your going to the loo the last 2 days is more than likely down to a touch of ibs.

Hi - and I agree with the others.... I had a bowl of tuna from the weekend in the fridge and when I took the clingfilm off it today it utterly stank.

And I think after 48hrs you'd know if it was off.
