Hi :) I haven't had my period in almost 3 months. Could it be due to anxiety? Because the past 3 months my anxiety has been the worst it has ever been. I'm very worried. I honestly have so many things going on right now. Anxiety is ruining my life and is causing me so many others problems and things to worry about. Thank you :)
Well this really depends on your circumstances - there are LOTS of reasons why periods can stop. Yes, this can be caused by anxiety, but can also be the result of
- pregnancy
- perimenopause (depending on your age)
- certain contraceptions, e.g. the IUD
- substantial weight loss
- heavy/frequent exercise
- PCOS (but you would have other symptoms besides this)
It's something to investigate, but not something to worry about!
During my first semester of college, I was under so much stress mentally and physically (for lots of different reasons) I missed my period. Since I was in a sexual relationship at the time, I went to the college doctor (I took two pregnancy test and I got cheap ones because I couldn't afford better and I wasn't sure of the result.) It was all down to stress for me! It returned to normal again but go to the doctor just to make sure x
