Recently diagnosed with GERD... But now I'm scared it's esophagus cancer

I went to the ER yesterday due to chest pain and my left arm hurting and was told my heart looked fine and that it was GERD. I think to myself heartburn ok I can deal with that, until I went home and looked up the hashtag gerd on TikTok and saw a video of a lady saying her husband died due to esophagus cancer and was told it was just gerd now I'm scared. What if they are misdiagnosing me? I don't have insurance to where I can get a scan. I don't know what to do. I don't want to think the worst but this acid reflux and heartburn is bad. Any support is appreciated

Did they give you any medication/advice? I have a hiatus hernia which has resulted in GERD and I take daily medication for it.

The things that tend to come up when you're searching for stuff always seem to be the most alarming. Don't google any more, go and discuss it with your GP.
