hi ive been put on 40mg of propranolol twice a day after trying lots of antidepressents for my anxiety and not succeding. Three days later im finding this a wonder drug and so happy my doctor has gave me this. So im finding taking two a day sometimes it can wear off and then im finding i need another.....ive heard you can get a slow release capsule so this does not happen? has any1 been on the normal tablet and transferred over to slow release and was it better for you thanks x
I used to take 1 x 40mg instant release about 8 years ago and I could feel it wearing off at about 3pm so swapped over to the 80mg slow release. It worked for me at the time but I was only on 1 a day.
I believe the 80mg slow release has a lower blood concentration overall than the instant release so you may be better taking another 40mg instant release instead? I've read that somewhere but not sure if it's right or not. Maybe give it a few weeks and see if it evens out and then go back to your GP?
