For example, will being on 200mg instead of 100mg make the withdrawal twice as bad?
Firstly, not everyone experiences horrendous withdrawals, most don't, nor are they necessarily just due to chemistry and biology, psychology is at least as important a factor. Expect to suffer greatly and the mind is quit capable of making it so. Plus, it is all a moot point as what is the point of taking an ineffective dose just to minimise any potential withdrawal symptoms? If you need 200mg to get a worthwhile response then there is no point taking only 100mg.
But to answer the question, no, doubling the dose does not double symptom severity. It just means it takes longer to wean off. It is often the quitting of the final few milligrams that cause the biggest problems, not the reductions at the top of the dose range.
