Heights and planes
I'm flying in few days and I have phobia of heights and flying. The only time I flew was 2 years ago and I had panic attack on the plane. It was terrible and I told myself I'm not doing it again.
Just by thinking how high I am and that something wrong could happen (although it's a really small chance) + everything that is happening to the world terrifies me. I feel like if I go I won't see my family again.
During the day I'm like I'm crazy I'm totally going to the trip and when the night comes up I'm starting to feel anxious and I'm like I don't wanna leave my house
I don't know what to do ...

Re: Heights and planes
Congratulations on attempting to face your fear again!
The stress is building up now. Make a plan how you will cope - relaxation exercises, magazines, distractions, (medication), in flight shopping.
You are safe.Nothing bad is going to happen. You are bigger than this phobia, it could not exist without you. Show this fear who is in charge! Good Luck:)

Re: Heights and planes
I was terrified for 40 yrs after only having flown once.
I wouldn't even contemplate flying then one day I just said stuff it and got on a plane at age 60 or so.
I think my wife was more scared than me worrying what I would do but I really enjoyed it.
Been flying ever since.
If you're really anxious ask your doc for a couple of Valium and take one before the trip.
It's really just like being on a bus but a bit higher up.

Re: Heights and planes
Onya Phill for conquering your fear of flying,I have always loved flying,it is buses that scare me after being in a bus crash years ago,I said self no more buses for you.
I agree with taking a diazepam if you are nervous.
