Re: How to survive first weeks on Fluo?
I am in Scotland over 8 years. I really like it but sometimes I miss my family. However if I am over there I miss UK so I am split between two countries.
I have few friends here as well but they have they own lives and don't really understand how I feel.
Re: How to survive first weeks on Fluo?
Well I have been on Fluoxetine 7 weeks. My GP increased the dose from 20mg to 30mgs last Friday, I have had a rough few days where the anxiety and depression made me feel awful. Sadly though overall, the Fluoxetine has not touched my DP (Depersonalisation Disorder), so it will be back to the psychiatrist, I have lost all hope now to be honest of ever getting rid of my DP. This is just another medication that has failed to work...... :(

Hi hun, how are you? Well I have been on fluoxetine for 7 weeks now. My GP upped it to 30mgs at the end of last week, had a really bad couple of days, probably side effects. I have to go back and see my GP on Monday 4th March, and I will probably be referred back to the psychiatrist as the fluoxetine hasn't got rid of my Depersonalisation Disorder, which is why I was put on it, plus I have been getting depressed cos my DP hasn't gone. So all in all, not good. How are things with you? Hoping you are a lot more well than me? Roxy x
Re: How to survive first weeks on Fluo?
Hi all, have just caught up with your posts and you all sound very fed up and low and hope you all feel better soon. this is such a hard road and when you have added factors like work issues it makes it even harder, I was lucky not to have that pressure as mine was very good and it was not in any way contibutory to my anxiety, Princess I can understand how hard it is not to feel bitter when you have been treated like that but it is hard to tell you what to do, it has to be what makes you happy, the only thing I can suggest is that when you feel able you go back but use it whilst you look for a new job.

Re: How to survive first weeks on Fluo?
Hi all, what week are we all on now? And do you still have any lingering side effects? It's almost week 9 for me. I am still getting internal shaking and my hands shake still.
Re: How to survive first weeks on Fluo?
Kim hopefully this will not last long, I still get an odd blip and they last for a couple of days, you think you are going to go backwards again but you won't it will pass, you have been so well the last couple of weeks and you will be again try not to worry. xxx
Re: How to survive first weeks on Fluo?
Morning all....
7 weeks today on 20 mg fluox...and i feel ok, its still a struggle somedays but in general much easier to deal with. Eating n sleeping ok, getting out and doing my normal routine only thing left is returning to work, which i plan to do in a few weeks time. Only side effects i have left are jaw clench and muscle twitching however i quite like the twitching!! I do have a problem with itching and dry skin though? Not sure if its related to the fluox but its a recent thing so could be related???
Mipmunk,
Im sorry the fluox isnt helping with your DP. i know how desperately you want to be rid of it. I dont know much about DP to be honest, i suffer from derealisation at times as part of my anxiety but i just try n accept it and it goes away after awhile. What else have you tried to help with it? Please dont lose hope...there is always hope if nothing else.

Re: How to survive first weeks on Fluo?
Good morning all
A better day today.though I did give in and take the xanax..but hell im only 3 weeks in. i still need it!!
good news is i got a phone call yesterday and that interview I did on monday went so well they want me to come back in on tuesday and interview again!!
Im very nervous. I despise my job and worry about it all the time...but the thoughts of being the new girl again is very worrying.
Re: How to survive first weeks on Fluo?
Use the xanax when you need it, I wish I had used my diazapan more to help me through but hind sight is a great thing.
Good news about the interview, if you are that unhappy where you are and you get this one yes you will be the new girl but not for long and it could change your life.
Roxy maybe it will help when the higher dose starts to get in your system.
Super my skin has been a bit itchy especially the backs of my legs, drives me crazy sometimes, did not think of it being the tablets but maybe it is if you are the same.
Princess hope you are ok this morning.
