Still no lupins for me
Odd Mrs.C. I think they’ve had it for this year. Mine have been and gone and trimmed back.
Do they look healthy…just no flower buds?
Any evidence of slugs Carnation? Our friendly molluscs are fond of them. I grew some one year, planted them out and slugs destroyed them.
All leaves in tact, no growth, no blooms, very weird.
I think if you’ve got no flower buds at all, they are not going to bother this year. As you say it’s very weird. See what they they do next year. Actually thinking about it, I lost a complete lupin plant early on this year…I’d forgotten that.
in better news my stubborn hollyhock is now bursting into bloom. I have no less than 5 flowers on it. Beautiful dark wine colours. I have a fancy for a whole bank of them.
That's brilliant darksky :yesyes:
We’re going mad with the produce growing. Because we were passing we nipped in to see if they still had any dessert grape vines left. Only to find them half price in casualty. So we got two.
Mr.D is planting them in and I’m off to peel more apples for the cider we intend to brew.
I feel like Mother Earth. :roflmao:
Carnation, your lupins. Did you plant them this year? They are perennials, so likely won't flower in their first year.
Darksky I have some of the dark wine hollyhocks. Some pale pink too which are growing alongside the car port. I bash them with the door every time I get out. Well done on the apples!!
Lots in bloom but I'm paying it scant attention.
No fishman, this year is the 3rd year.
Darksky, is Mr D planning on making some more fruit juice? :D
Im afraid so, Mrs.C :weep: The grapes of wrath are full grown and not long off picking.
However, we only have two demijohns and as he’s having a crack at cider, he can only use one for his grape juice this year. Small victories, but a victory none the less.
