Re: Feel like something isn't right??
That definatley sounds like ibs, for me the triggers is dairy and greasy food! It's horrible and the pain is unbearable sometimes!! But o take a pill and with half hour I'm ok! I don't actually get headaches with it though, that does seem like a kind of intolerance, do you get a sore mouth? Like ulcers?
I'm looking forward to spending time with my partner tonight too! For me my lack of sex drive is annoying, I want to have sex, I fantasise about sex but when it comes o it I feel to lazy to do it!? How does that work? Maybe it's a mental block, once I have sex though I enjoy it!
I was triggered at the wedding and nearly went home but I did stick it out and my anxiety reduced!
Re: Feel like something isn't right??
I'm actually so proud of myself today! Today marks the first day that even though I still woke up at 5, i layed in bed for 45 mins without panicking! I just layed there and relaxed! I feel like I've achieved something! Not even thoughts are bothering me today! May be a small victory but it's one I'm going to relish in
Re: Feel like something isn't right??
I used to get flare ups of mouth ulcers but I've not had it for a long time now. I also used to get oral thrush off and on but I have asthma and this is common issue with asthma inhalers.
Greasy food does it to me as well but its not all the time which is strange. Dairy never seems to affect me but if I have it with a fry up it seems to as part of the greasy thing.
I've been better the last few days, the odd bit off but nowhere near as bad after cutting down on potato. See where it goes I guess. I think I will still make a start on probiotics...I have been thinking about brewing water kefir!
Depression can be like that. Very little can feel motivating, even if you want to do it. You just have to get on with it sometimes and let things change your mood. I guess it justs means your fella needs to be persuasive :whistles::D
Sounds like you are making some progress today. Enjoy it and try to remember that it is possible when you are suffering next time. This could also mean the start of moving forward as you find the better periods increase and the worse periods decrease.
Re: Feel like something isn't right??
What's water kefler?
Yer greasy food can be a killer. He thing is there is no ibs cure either which is annoying! I've been ok for two days now, almost feel back to myself, occasionally thoughts try and niggle at me but I'm trying to just push them aside and generally it is working! So I'm happy about that! I just hope if I do have a rough day I remember this moment!

The thing is I still feel guilty for my past but it's no longer out of proportion to the situation. I've realised that the past is past and there is nothing I can do to change it, all I can do is learn from it and try and better myself now! I'm not perfect, nobody is though and we all make mistakes, I don't want to look back on my life and realised I've wasted it worrying about things that can't be changed. I still get moments too where i worry about whether I truly love my partner, but he makes me so happy! So u know what, I don't care if I don't love him, I'm choosing to stay with him because he makes me happy and because I want a future with him! Forget ocd, anxiety and depression! I need to live my life in the now and not in the past. I don't need to worry about my relationship cos it's my choice what I choose to do!
Re: Feel like something isn't right??
Kefir was originally a milk fermented drink that is a high source of probiotics. It was made with milk for thousands of years, no one knows its true origins other goatherding tribes. Water kefir came much later from Mexico and is sugared water fermented that produces a high source of probiotics.
Both forms eat the sugar, lactose in the milk (so much so that it can be tolerated by lactos intolerant people) and the sugar you added to the water for the water kefir.
Both require a starter culture of probiotics. Once you have one, you just keep brewing forever with the same grains.
Water & milk kefir have different probiotic makeups but they are both excellent and far far stronger than anything you buy in a supplement. I've seen very high strength supplements for £60+ for 3 days that are nowhere near as strong as either form of kefir which are a one time purchase for less than £10, some jars, milk, water & sugar, etc.
Re: Feel like something isn't right??
Ahh that sounds good! So it could really help with stomach problems then! May look into that too! The omega 3 you suggested already works a treat!! I really can see a difference! I'm having another up day! I never thought I'd escape that black hole I was stuck in! But here I am! Pretty much out the other side! I hope it stays like this! But if it don't I know I'll have you guys to remind me it can be done! And in the mean time I'm commuted to helping the members on here.
For me if I think about the events of course I feel slight unease but I can push them away easily now as opposed to being stuck
Re: Feel like something isn't right??
If you are interested in kefir, there is tons on the internet about it. Its very popular in eastern Europe but its gaining popularity in the UK & US and it can save people a fortune on probiotic supplements.
A good company in the UK is Happy Kombucha http://happykombucha.co.uk/collections/live-kefir I sent them a few emails and they were extremely helpful and really knew about their products as they seem to have come from using them themselves to starting up their company. When you mail them you get to the company owners so it must be a small firm.
This one is a good resource for kefir as well but its more US market:

I have done some reading about this stuff on the internet, Amazon reviews, etc and a lot of people say it works for them, not just anxiety & depression, but Candida overgrowth and even IBS. Some people on the Amazon reviews state that medication didn't really work for them but probiotics have. So, I think its worth a look.
Gut bacteria is an interesting subject because its found in your mouth all the way to the exit (:D) and after some research I found that many of the strains even work with such as the liver and the ability for absortion that impacts on serotonin levels. So, I think there is a lot of relevance for us in here and there are a couple of members on here that say they have felt better for taking probiotics for their anxiety.
I started taking high strength Omega 3 about 4 months ago and I have been far better than before. This time last year I was having a 3 month run of bad fatigue all the way up the Christmas and that isn't happening now other than the odd day here & there. I have also noticed that I have more resilience and my mood is much better. Even when the mood sinks or the anxiety comes, I find I handle it better. So, there must be something in this Omega 3 stuff!
I think a lot of my issues are diet related as well so addressing things like this are a good experiment. My GP has never even discussed diet...its just pills & therapy with those guys. Thats one of the reasons I joined this place, to talk to people about all the different root causes and underlying issues because CBT is never going to address issues like deficiency.
Re: Feel like something isn't right??
Excellent thanks I'm going to look at that! I agree it is all pills and therapy with them, I've actually found here to be more helpful than the cbt! And as for the pills I mean they are probably helping some but I think that the omega 3 has definatley helped me much more! I find that it's easier to talk to people with real life experience as opposed to someone who's studied it.
I still value my time alone but hey least it's peaceful
Re: Feel like something isn't right??
Me too, whilst my therapist was great, my GP has been pretty pointless. 10 minutes of quick chat, a review of meds, etc. He has never discussed diet, exercise, other medical factors that could cause anxiety & depression or how many factors interlink. Sadly, no one takes a holistic view.
This site is excellent for things like this because of all the different stages people are at. Its also interesting to have an international element.
The medical professionals have to work from clinical evidence as well and unless they have proved something not to work, it could work because they just haven't attempted to prove it. Not long ago they were stating hypnotherapy doesn't work and now its seen as more beneficial than CBT for IBS! Many of the NHS psychotherapists are also hypnotherapists...why if it doesn't work? So, you have to try things out. Look at accupuncture & accupressure. Accupressure helped with my nausea. A guy thhat used to work for me said all the meds, physiotherapy & chiropractor work did nothing but accupuncture worked everytime. I was looking at this recently and it seems that accupuncture is gaining a body of evidence for anxiety treatment as well which is very interesting.
Oosh has a thread on fish oil on the therapy board which you might want to have a look at. He's been doing quite a bit of research into it and I'm sure he would love to know about how they are helping you.
Re: Feel like something isn't right??
Will do thanks terry!
I generally still feel better although I'm a bit low today, just lack of motivation for life ect, work is a bit stressful though so it's no wonder. Just in a very quiet and in myself kind of mood! I contribute that more to stress though than anything else! Work is just a little tiring so I put it down to that.
