I agree about Markle being a narcissist..but don't feel too sorry for Harry. He'll soon lose his appeal in the States when he can't make any more money out of the RF connection because he's no longer a relevant royal. He'll just have to bang on about his MH then and she'll tell everyone how to live their truths yadda yadda..and the racism card will be brought out whenever it is lucrative for them.
I wonder about that. A lot of Americans seem to say they didn't know who she was before Harry. I remember seeing Suits on Dave a lot around 2am. I've seen Americans say it was a minor show over there. And he's upset some Americans with his remarks about their constitution. It was funny seeing Americans post comments about how that was formed out of getting rid of the likes of you mate.
His UN speech was embarrassing. He would be packing that room before.
Hollywood types aren't with them. The Obama's have distanced themselves. It makes we wonder why they are getting much media. They seem to be in a bubble getting flogged to the US but how many over there are that interested?
Maybe Netflix thought they might get some juicy insider stuff. The Palace know full well what unscrupulous media types get up to so will always be on their guard around him. He's a security risk.
It's sad really. Typical families. There are some little kids involved missing out on getting to know their wider family. All because of the adults. It's like a Jeremy Kyle episode.

Back in spring 2020 (once toilet roll mania had finally died down) when destroying masts seemed to be the latest fad due to the batsh1t crazy conspiracy theory belief that they could spread Covid and allow govts the world over to spy on us, I strangely don't seem to recall as much of a peep from XR over them at the time.
Where they even a thing? They may have been around but I had never read about them.
New ones keep popping up. How many are out there? Do they all get a turn?

I do, but he's not the King, is he? Harry can apologise for his individual actions, but it's down the monarch to apologise on behalf of 'the firm' and their history.

There's little credibility in the likes of India wanting some jewels back when they ignore the poverty in their country
Given that it took a footballer to fight for British kids to get a meal during the pandemic, I think we should look to our own government's failings with poverty. Also, the billions that are going into Chaz's parade (and his two-year brag tour) which could put food into the bellies of the 3,900,000 children currently living in poverty in the UK. But it means more to Charles to parade himself (and his sidepiece) around in a ridiculous gold carriage (heads adorned in crowns full of nicked jewels) and have people bow and scrape in reverence because, hey, he wants to be a 'modern' King. :yesyes:
And now there is another non-elected, out of touch elitist as PM. (And he's richer than the Charles)

and criminal law treats women like crap.
Absolutely, and it sickens me. However, given that we've been talking about colonialism etc, let's not forget that the British tortured and sexually exploited Indian women in what's yet another dark chapter in our 'glorious empire' history.

And right now there is still slavery.
Yes, and the problem is unlikely to ever be eradicated because there will always be the vulnerable in society and those who seek to exploit them.

I don't know how Liz coped with him. Dude was a MAJOR embarrassment. I reckon she used to toss down a Valium (or six) before every public engagement. (There had to be a reason for those handbags) :roflmao:
Re: Today’s headlines .........
And now Harry is getting ready to flog the first of his tomes-translated into 16 different languages-to the waiting world...
I can imagine PP's reaction..
Re: Today’s headlines .........
Well every nation in history treated everyone like crap. It was the world. Every nation would have to apologise. In terms of our empire did we invade places that didn't already abuse it's people? British law even banned some heinous practises such as widow burning.
We are looking at it through today's eyes. It doesn't work and I'll bet in a 100 years they will be saying the same about us. Pull that statue of Churchill down if you want but make sure you do the same with any of Ghandi as he was also racist towards Africans. And I wonder how those wonderful abolitionists treated gay people? Or women who were second class?
I think the monarchy have to be careful apologising because it may be taken as on behalf of the British people. The government may not approve because of the feelings it will stir up here. It was mostly the rich that got richer whilst our children died in workhouses. We don't feel the need for apologies from the gentry because they kept serfs. We don't need apologies from the rich who let us die living a poor life in terrible working conditions.
Today's struggles matter more. Such as what Rashford did for schools which was a good thing. It's sad that there seems to be more concern about the past than what is actually happening now.
Interesting point made on a news show the other day. Musk buys out Twitter and may allow Trump back. The guy said it's funny how Twitter don't mind the president of Iran on there. Meanwhile in Iran women are being sexually assaulted in jails for daring to protest against the death of a young woman in the hands of the morality police. Fair enough, perhaps Trump is removed because used the platform for misinformation but it makes you think what's worse.

I agree with you Terry.
Simply wiping statues, monuments, etc, off the face of the earth just because the current generation find certain historical aspects of what they stood for offensive and objectionable, doesn't really solve many issues of the 'here and now' that both the authorities and the general public should ultimately be seeking to address, rather than 'reminders' of certain aspects of the past that are (albeit still justifiably in many ways) considered abhorrent in the context of today's 'zeitgeist'.
For instance, as cruel and abhorrent as the actions of the Vikings were, I definitely wouldn't agree with the banning and closure of the Jorvik Viking Centre in York, just because of a few triggered sensitive individuals. The simple answer is, don't even go there nor look at its website if you can't stomach it, and leave the masses who attend it from far and wide basically every year to do so at their own will. Not that there's been any talk of it in the media, but merely an example.
Ditto for all the maritime tourist attractions in Portsmouth, and their associations with wars, etc.

Oh dear! It's a well-known fact of recent times that it’s nigh on impossible to prevent being afflicted by a persistent corvid. Anyway, some types of corvid are nothing more than an irritating chough...
.
Corvid?
I remember earlier in the pandemic that being a misnomer/misspelling of Covid.
Re: Today’s headlines .........
Corvid refers to the crow family. This article reports on a scary jackdaw but Pain is playing on the similarity of corvid and covid to make a point.

What if the jackdaw causes Bird Flu (partly said in jest)?

Then the media will have plenty to crow about.
