How long you been on increased dose Tracey? I am yet to go to 150mg as I still feel no different
ah okay so you dont know if you can quarter them?? maybe il ring a pharmacist and ask??
thanks for answering :)
50mg of Sertraline cut into quarters in very difficult - I tried to do this many months ago but I tried to do with Stanley knife - it is very fiddly and not all quarters are the same. 10mg or a 15mg?
Tracey - 100mg is a normal dose for Sert - it will increase anxiety a little but should disappear - and with anxiety brings weird thoughts. You will be fine - it is a good dose to be on xxxxxx

It is not dangerous to do this - just a bit inaccurate - as long as they are not Slow Release.
yea i know the tablets are very small...i just dont know what to do :(
Hi should be ok - just split in 2 then go again - that is what I did - but a sharp knife is needed a pill cutter will not do it.
Hi Kerry.
Could you not bring yourself to start on half a tablet, at least that way you can be more accurate and know how much you are getting.
I started on 50mg and I can honestly say that side effects have been few and most only lasted a few days.
I was due to increase to 100mg but have stayed on 50mg for the moment as I feel ok on this dose but I have read that people have side effects for a few days with each increase so starting on such a low dose may just prolong the time it takes your body to adjust to the medication.
I was very afraid to start on Sertraline after reading of side effects and all the negativity that goes with taking antidepressants but I am now pleased I did and only wish I had started taking it earlier and not put myself through months of anguish.
:)
hi...
im just so scared...i feel anxious enough now so i know when i take it i will have a panic attack as il work myself up to it....but its the feeling panicky/anxious all day that scares me..im agoraphobic so find it hard to go out like this anyway, and if they make me worse i doubt il go out...which aint fair on my kids...but on the other hand its prob the best time to start as they are on holiday so no school run...just so scared :(
Laura thanks for your support its the dark dark thoughts that i cant deal with again surely i shouldnt be getting that ?
How long do you think reasonable time to give it??
Did you take any Sertraline Kerry?
Could you ask your GP for some diazepam to help with the anxiety and panic you may experience when first taking Sertraline?
I have heard of a few people doing this and my GP did offer me diazepam which I did not need to take although I think it helped just knowing it was there if I needed it.
yea he gave me a prescription for diazepam too as he knows i had a bad reaction before but i didnt know if they worked...i havnt taken anything yet...i am scared :(
