Re: pb's Health anxiety worries thread
I have managed to have a good birthday and although I’ve had lots of health worries as usual, I managed to contain them.
My nieces and nephew spent the day with me and I didn’t mention my worries, which I’m really pleased about.
I have a telephone consultation with a psychiatrist next Friday.
I need to get some control of my life back x

When I've been at my worst, I've put up motivational signs around my house to help me. I had the Nike "just do it" poster, but I changed the "just" to "you can" and put it on the ceiling above my bed cause I had trouble getting out of bed. I put a "go for a walk" one on the refrigerator. "Everything is fine" on my cell phone cover so I wouldn't annoy my relatives by constantly checking in on them.
Any signs you could put up? Think it could help you out a bit?

What about "I need to get some control of my life back" for starters?
I'm glad you had a good birthday. It's your special day and you deserve a bit of a break from all the angst. I do hope the psychiatrist appointment is the first step towards getting you appropriate therapy and that the wait for this isn't too long. You've made a start on your road to recovery xx

That's what the "Positive Thoughts" thread is about. Life is challenging anxiety or not and making a positive regardless of what life throws at you is beneficial.

Re: pb's Health anxiety worries thread
Getting lots of chest and back spasms this morning, which is making me panic it’s my heart.
I seem to have an ok day and then revert back to complete panic.
Im going to do what AV suggested and put up some post it notes in my room, the main one should be “My heart is ok, I’ve had checks, spasms are probably stress or muscular “, I really wish I could believe this.
Distraction techniques do not really work for me, but I will try not to focus on the pains .

Re: pb's Health anxiety worries thread
Getting pain under my left breast at the top of my rib, think my bra has probably rubbed, but my mind goes to it must be my heart.
Getting pins and needles in left hand, have had this before and gp said it was stress.
I can’t control my panic at the moment. Chest muscles keep going into spasms and my back.
Dont want to go to AnE again.
Re: pb's Health anxiety worries thread
How many times have you had a normal ECG in the past few weeks? How would another ECG convince you when the others haven't? How would you cope if a doctor saw how many times you had been checked out already and refused to do another test?
Re: Ear, tooth and jaw pain
I know it’s exhausting pb, but you are fine. You have to fight back.
Just because you have a good day it doesn’t mean you are cured, you have to work on anxiety every day.

You CAN get better, pb..It's a matter of believing it though. You deserve to get better and will do. You can't use going to A&E repeatedly as a coping mechanism because it's wrong and it doesn't work xx
