Popped to the supermarket today for the first time in a week. I noticed they have built some barriers now and there are lines on the floor, indicating how far apart people should stand from one another. Quite a lot of people wearing masks - and gloves. I'd already read on the BBC that such measures were in place but somehow it still didn't quite prepare me. It was a strange experience.
Seeing people wearing the masks has now started making me paranoid that the virus is lurking around in regular air particles. I also have become very conscious that it's possible to wash hands, but then immediately touch something , like a shopping trolley - wash them again, but then you need to unpack your food ect ect. I'm wondering - if a supermarket worker was infected and stacking items on the shelves, does the virus "lurk" on the food packaging?
I don't know if I'm being overly paranoid here or not. On the bright side - it's a positive to see this being taken much more seriously now.
