Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
I worry about my dog too Poppy, she's 12 but I'm hoping she'll be around for a couple more years. She's had a couple of falls this year and an episode where she could only walk sideways for a short period. Thankfully she seems fine at the moment. It is a worry, but she is so loveable, she is worth the worry.
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
I think we all worry about our pets. They are there for us with no judgement. They can't tell us if they have a problem so we do our best to sense any issues which is a heavy responsibility.
Yes, it's lovely by the sea. I'm very lucky.
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
It's the dreaded "responsibility" element again...
I dread to think how many pets will be either abandoned or handed in to a rescue centre as vets bills continue to soar excessively and often needlessly in my opinion.
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
In the states, there was also a huge demand for puppies during covid, and many are being left due to COL rises, but there was also a lot of indiscriminate breeding to meet that demand and as a result, a lot of reactive dogs who are being abandoned for that too. Part of me can sympathize- reactivity and aggression are no picnic - but I wish it would encourage people to be more careful when selecting pets.
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
So do I poppy. I worked as a volunteer animal rescuer for a while and fostered. Many a story to tell but too upsetting to mention here.

Maybe go back to the dentist? It's really been dragging on.
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
Yes we are..on Wednesday...It will be 3 plus weeks then since she had the filling. I wonder whether it's psychological now but don't want to dismiss it as that without proper evidence. I'm hoping he'll give her an x-ray now.
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
Pulisa, definitely push for the x-ray. They'll probably do one of just the section. A warm salt water rinse won't do any harm either. x
