Re: How severe has anxiety affected YOUR memory?
I've found it has affected my short term memory terribly, like remembering things my partner asked me to do, and remembering tasks, shopping items etc. But perhaps that also to do with concentration and not listening to people properly because I'm anxious.
Re: How severe has anxiety affected YOUR memory?
It affected it a great deal in the beginning when I had a nervous breakdown 18 years ago, but since I've been better, my memory improved and that symptom disappeared and was no longer an issue.
Re: How severe has anxiety affected YOUR memory?
All three
I forget names, forget how to spell and sometimes my grammar can be terrible. However, these *can* be normal 'blips' in those without anxiety. But anxiety definitely worsens it, yeah.
Re: How severe has anxiety affected YOUR memory?
Definately I think a lot of it is to do with concentration. A lot of the time I find I'm only half listening to people.

Re: How severe has anxiety affected YOUR memory?
I feel like this is getting the best of me. I am currently on the computer, typing this out, and i find that I have to put more thought into spelling, punctuation, and just general grammas. i AM not changing anything so you guys can see what I am talking about. lIEK, THE spellign mistakes, I even sometimes write the wrong words in place of another or the letters are out of place.I have excellent typing skills, but it feels like I am forgetting how to type and spell..another symptoms of CJD.
Re: Does anyone ever find themselves coming across a simple word and forgetting its m
It’s because you’re focusing on it and tense. I could touch type all day at work and not think about it, it’s automatic. But the minute someone watches me I make mistakes and I bet you do too.
Worry affects all of these skills.
