Post after post i'm reading about how you've all looked on google and how its made you freak and rush to the doctors thinking you're dying. Its a healthy thing to want to know whats wrong with us but all advice out there isn't from professional sources.
Its time us health anxiety sufferers got Dr Google struck off!!
Post for newbies how searching the web has made you feel worse and lets try and stop people doing it and learn from our mistakes.
I agree, dr google makes things worse but I fall into that trap too.
Re: "Dr google will see you now!!!"
Even though I am trying my best not to google and been for two weeks cbt.
I am scared about my head lump/spot. I have googled and it has come up with soft tissue sarcomas, because I have NF.
I have google which is bad
Re: "Dr google will see you now!!!"
I'm guilty of googling for anything about my pets that I fret over
Re: "Dr google will see you now!!!"
I google everything. Not just health related issues. Honestly I need to stop Google all together. My mind never stops. I feel like I need to know everything about anything. And I need to know it right away.
Re: "Dr google will see you now!!!"
I will repeat this - if you NEED to Google something, do this
On your Google search, type:
site:www.nomorepanic.co.uk your symptom
This way you satisfy that OCD need to Google but you restrict your results to here - it'll let you browse and look up pages upon pages of threads with people who may have exactly your problem and what they did to fix it. And at the very least, you won't feel alone about it if you've seen other people with the problem.
Re: "Dr google will see you now!!!"
I typed in "causes of bloating" and Google told me I might have Ovarian cancer! That terrified me until I remembered I'm a man :roflmao:

Re: "Dr google will see you now!!!"
I'm terrible at doing this and as many times as I've done it in the past and felt 100 times worse after, I still give in and do it every time :( Why do we keep doing this to ourselves? It was so much easier when google wasn't around lol

Me too Brian! Google has become an extension to my brain and I can quickly find anything. I'd be lost without it :(
