Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
Yesterday I ventured out of town for the first time in 6 months. I drove :) on one of those nonstop winding country lanes with a 50mph for about 3 miles. Why its 50 I have no idea, speed limits make no sense to me most of the time and I'd be quite happy in my comfortable 30mph. But I did it. Ignored the rear bump drivers who wanted me to drive at 60, one overtook with great speed then got stuck behind another trail so caught up so they'd actually gained nothing! Always makes me smile.
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
Oh yes, that’s great fun….we get Mercs overtaking us at great speed and we always say…’see you in a bit’ because we know damn well we will see them at the next traffic lights, and we always do.
Ditto winding country lanes. 50mph is far too fast when you can’t see round a corner and often the road isn’t wide enough for 2 cars to pass easily.
Still well done for getting on and doing it. :hugs:
Bright and gusty here today, it’s pretty much perfect.
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
I think my passing car was Merc darksky. Does the car come with an ar**h*le badge?
I did well and I know that road and there's a bend for unknown visitors that will have you easily down a ditch.
It's 19c with a gusty wind. Rain expected the next 3 days. Making the most of it before it hots up again.
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
That's brilliant on getting out of town Carnation!! All those extra steps you're making and pushing your boundaries. Be proud of yourself :yesyes:
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
Thanks fishman.
I still have the " Oh my god, is something going to happen " and I've got to stop gripping the steering wheel so my knuckles go red, but apart from that, I'm doing good.
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
You are doing well Carnation. Country roads can be a nightmare, I just pootle along at my own speed and sod the rest of the world.
The temperature has really dropped up here and it looks like rain for the foreseeable future, at least it means all the plants are getting watered.
The big news in our house is that we've bought a secondhand pushchair for our dog, I wanted to buy a proper dog pushchair, but my husband was being frugal, so we've ended up with a child's one. We're going away for a few days soon to Northumberland and the idea is that if she gets too tired when we're out walking we can pop her in, husband also wants to go up to Edinburgh for the day when we're over that side so the plan is to use it then too. Honestly, I feel we need a test run, I sat her in it and she wasn't keen, so I'm starting to have visions I'm going to end up just looking like a bag lady pushing a second hand pushchair around whilst the dog trails behind.

Lol catkins, that made me laugh :D I can just picture it.
I actually had visions of hubby getting in the pram and you pushing it. But I'll tell you what, it will be handy for carrying bags and shopping which makes you wonder whether hubby had an ulterior motive. :winks:
Thanks for the praise on my tackling the country roads. I'd forgot to mention I'd also left my fags at home and it's something I've never done before and if there's a time you need a smoke, it's after a potentially hair-raising situation (driving). But after a second or two of "shall I drive back and get them" I said, "ok, I can manage. Besides, the thought of driving that road 4 times outdid the want for a cigarette. :D
It's quite chilly here. Wearing what you would call Autumn clothes. A lot of rain on the forecast for the next two weeks. The grass is beginning to get its colour back but its not growing as such. Not great weather for Wimbledon. Anyone watching?
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
Yes I’ve started to watch a little of it. I am suffering terrible football withdrawals, so I decided to ease them a bit by watching the tennis. I saw Venus Williams or was it Serena? Don’t know but I saw her go out yesterday with that knee injury .Looked painful.
Mr. D is working today, he has his stuff sprawled over the kitchen table:lac: Ive got a pile of ironing to do…3 grown men and none of them know how to turn the iron on.
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
It was Venue darksky, Serena has retired.
The knee looked iffy before she even started and she's a great age to still be playing tennis at that level.
Ahh, a fellow ironer. A dying art these days. If in the right mood can be very therapeutic. I might do some today as its cooler and my sinuses have flared up again. I was only out in the garden for seconds this morning and my eyes and nose were streaming along with feeling like I had a cold. I thought that ship had passed being July.
My teeth have been on edge for the last few days along with jaw pain, a bit like neuralgia. For a while I thought it was a dentist thing but as it moved about and affected the jaw and throat I thought it must be a sinus issue. At least I'm not deaf in one ear now. :D
Re: Relapse! Coping, Symptoms and Tips.
I have to iron, well someone does because both my sons wear shirts for work. Also decent trousers too so everything has to be ironed. I did know a woman who ironed bed sheets. I’d better not say anything more in case it was you :roflmao:
Fortunately my hay fever ship has definitely sailed. I haven’t had it in a while so I’m thinking my problem is tree pollen. So this afternoon, off to get a can of petrol. Unless I start siphoning it from cars I can’t see us getting the mower going again.
