Lack of logic and rationality.
Hello!
I was on a 7day vacation on Fuerteventura. It was a small tourist town, filled with cats. All of them were friendly, I petted two of them. And suddenly my HA decided to attack - RABIES. At first I calmed down, as the first cat was a "hotel cat" -vaccinated etc. The second one probably wasn't from the hotel, but just a town cat. I have no idea whether vaccinated or not. So my fear came back, even larger.
Some facts - rabies is non existent on Canary Islands. I also know that petting a cat isn't an exposure. Cats vere extremely friendly, I observed it for a week, he was still nice and friendly when I was leaving yesterday. I know I'm not in any risk of rabies. But I cannot move past this fear. I'm so so so afraid, and I known doctor would treat this seriously, as I wasn't exposed.
How do I cope? I can't imagine living my life with this fear. It would be easier if I could observe the cat for the 10-14 days period as is advised with suspected animals.
