Is this tiny testicular lump cancer?
A few months ago I went to the doctor because I thought I could feel a lump at the bottom of my right testicle and turns out that it was nothing...
Since then, I've been constantly checking my testicles and recently I felt something at the top of the right one.
It's about the size of a grain of sand, firm, doesn't move and is like almost right at the top near the epididymis etc.
According to Bupa:
Quote:
You might also feel a small and firm lump near the top of your testes. This might well be what’s called the Hydatid of Morgagni (also known as the appendix testis) and is completely normal.
It's probably appendix testis or whatever, but I can't pretend that I'm not still worried. :weep:
I just don't want to go running back to the doctors, especially during COVID and because it's nearly Christmas so it'll be busy.

Re: Is this tiny testicular lump cancer?
Fishmanpa, I'll take any advice I can get on this.

Re: Is this tiny testicular lump cancer?
ignore it to be honest or go and see a doctor

Re: Is this tiny testicular lump cancer?
The more you check, the more you're feel, then feel again because you think you might have missed something and then you feel every little lump and bump there is. The only settling answer you're gonna get is from your GP. Does the other side have the same bump?

It really seems like it could be a natural part of it because it's pretty much right next to the top, and cancer isn't really found at the top.
I didn't want to see a doctor so close to Christmas but I guess I may have to reconsider... I feel like it'll be busy, and then if I get referred to for a scan and have to wait a crazy amount of time it will mess everything up (studies included) and I won't be able to focus on life again

Re: Is this tiny testicular lump cancer?
Is it an option to keep an eye on it for a week or two and monitor it? I’m not a guy so I don’t know lol. I just know it’s always my rule of thumb for physical changes is to just monitor for a few weeks and if still there or has changed then go get it checked.

No, but the right one and left one feel quite different to each other anyway
One is larger and more sensitive and the other is a little smaller and really doesn't feel sensitive at all
I went to the doctor a few months ago for another "lump" I felt" and she said they both felt normal (but this tiny bump or whatever is hard to find so she wouldn't have been able to feel it)
-
Re: Is this tiny testicular lump cancer?
I'm really scared... I think it's the appendix of testis or whatever (small, hard, usually firm bump near the top) but still... I don't want to have to go running back to the doctor again and she probably wouldn't even be able to feel it because it's hard to locate
Has anyone else had any similar issues?

You've gone from worrying about rectal cancer from a two year old thread to testicular cancer in less than 24 hours.
Advice: Stop playing with your balls and talk to your doctor about a change in meds dosage along with real life help.

a) Please don't sexualise this.
b) It's important to check down there.

Re: Is this tiny testicular lump cancer?
I rang the doctor, had a phone appointment and I have to go in at the beginning of the New Year if I want an examination
They didn't seem too worried because it was smaller than a pea but everything has to start off small, right?
Now this is going to ruin my Christmas and New Year, as if it wasn't already bad enough due to not being able to see family and the lockdowns etc.

Re: Is this tiny testicular lump cancer?
I haven't slept all night and now I feel like I'm gonna be sick.

Re: Is this tiny testicular lump cancer?
I honestly just wouldn't mind if both were removed. They're just more trouble than they're worth and I'm not interested in having children

Re: Is this tiny testicular lump cancer?
Toby don’t let yourself spiral. Remember what it was like during your rectal HA fears? What did you do to help get out of that rabbit hole? Do the same thing now. Stop touching them and distract. Turn your thoughts elsewhere or you are going to fall in to this hole as fast as you did the last one.

Thanks Glass, I'm really struggling right now
It wasn't easy to get out of that CRC rabbit hole, it was only as months passed I realized I was probably alright (touch wood). The days (and nights) when I experienced symptoms were slow and hellish.
Testicular cancer fear isn't as bad as colon cancer fear, because testicular cancer is so curable. That gives me a little bit of relief. But then it's still cancer and I may be one of the unlucky ones with a rare form that is incurable or something.... I really hate thinking like that but it's possible given the bump is towards the top rather than on the sides (as lumps and bumps usually are with common testicular cancer)
Also, anything I do to distract myself really just makes me think "What are you doing? You may have testicular cancer"

Re: Is this tiny testicular lump cancer?
Does anyone have anything else to add? I'm going out of my mind so any advice would be appreciated

Re: Is this tiny testicular lump cancer?
It's Christmas 2020, and any anxiety sufferer worth their salt is going out of their mind.
It's not cancer, put it out of your mind and find something more fun to do.

I wish I could but this has already ruined my Christmas

Re: Is this tiny testicular lump cancer?
Has anyone here ever found a small, hard, painless, pimple-sized "lump" down below that turned out to be innocent?
-
Re: Is this tiny testicular lump cancer?
Anyone? :scared15:
I'm scared that it's not the appendix testis because I don't REALLY recall feeling this in the past... but maybe I wasn't as focused on that area of it? In September, I was focused on the bottom of it (I thought I felt a mass but I didn't, it was actually just the normal structure of it)
I don't know but I'm sort of unconvinced that it's the appendix testis now... it could be a cyst because they can be hard and painless and immobile
but the fact that it COULD BE cancer scares me

Re: Is this tiny testicular lump cancer?
Toby, with all due respect, I know your mental illness is severe as demonstrated in your post history and the two year, nearly 300 page thread on rectal cancer. That said, this is identical in every way to the very same pattern. I won't even attempt to reassure something that doesn't need reassurance. It's Christmas Eve for goodness sakes! If you allow this to ruin your holiday, it's totally and completely on you and you only.
Please don't reply to this... Just log off and try to enjoy your Christmas.

Today was a good day for me (in comparison to a few days ago) but it bubbles away in the back of my mind... how can I celebrate a happy, joyous occasion whilst thinking I may have cancer?
I will try and enjoy tomorrow, as difficult as it may be
I hope you enjoy your Christmas though :)
(I just saw that you said don't reply but I've typed it so I may as well hit send now:blush:)

Re: Is this tiny testicular lump cancer?
I know I shouldn't be because it's Christmas Day and everything but I'm really struggling, shut away in my room and I can't stop feeling this small goddamn lump.
P.S. Merry Christmas to all... have a more festive day than I'm having :)

Re: Is this tiny testicular lump cancer?
And on top of it all, I was born with undescended testicles (corrected at age of 1) which increases the likelihood of testicular cancer in later life
So..... that means in all likelihood, it must be TC

Re: Is this tiny testicular lump cancer?
Let's not go there again Toby.

Saying that you have cancer and another 300 page post.

Re: Is this tiny testicular lump cancer?
At any moment, any of us could have a malignant tumour growing painlessly inside us. I could. You could. If you let it rule your life, though, what are you actually living for? Even if you do have what you fear it's not an instant death sentence like the guillotine; it's likely not a death sentence at all.
I mean this kindly, but get a life and stick to playing with yourself for strictly recreational purposes.

If it is testicular cancer, the lump will be much bigger than it is now before we reach 10 pages, let alone 300
I'm seeing my GP very soon, hopefully in a few days, but until then I'm just worried
I know no-one on here can diagnose me but still, I guess coming on here to worry is a coping mechanism

That's true, and is something that I think about a lot. But I can actually feel mine (if it is a tumour)
& I really don't want this to be anything sexual or anything that I should be embarrassed about because it's just a part of the body

Re: Is this tiny testicular lump cancer?
My biggest fear (aside from the cancer) is having to tell my parents that I have to have an ultrasound or having to tell them that I have a lump, possibly cancer, full stop. So embarrassing. I'm so reserved and private, talking about genitals with family members would be mortifying

Re: Is this tiny testicular lump cancer?
I really don't think it will come to that so no point thinking about it.

I hope not but given that it's a hard spot I feel likeeven if they think it's not they'll refer me for a scan 'just to be safe' but the appointment will be like a month later, meaning I'll have to wait/worry for all that time
-
Re: Is this tiny testicular lump cancer?
Well that is your choice if you do that or not.

The waiting time for that appointment is going to kill me... :scared10:
How long do you think it'll be with COVID? A few weeks to a month? More?
