NEW PANIC ATTACK DRUG

Hi all

I tried out voluntarily this panic attack drug about 3 years ago with a surgery over in Glasgow they were trying out the drug on different people to see if it worked or not.

anyway i did try out the drug and it was great, but the trouble is now i cant remember the name of the drug..you were only allowed to take the drug for a certain amount of time then stop it.. [:O]

my doctor is trying to look into it.. as far as i know up until now the drug is given to people for epilepsy as well as panic attacks

please if anyone can think or knows the name of this new drug for panic attacks that just came out on the NHS last year sometime please post as my doctor is going to try and see if its licensed out to give to people with panic attacks and not just for epilepsy..

If i do get the name of the drug i will post on here to see if anyone else knows of it...

The nurse that does these voluntarily drugs did send my file over to my own GP to put in my file.. but my own doctor didnt do it

I have recently changed my doctor and this one is sooo very nice she has checked my file nic and theres nothing there.. she not happy about that at all.. it shouldf been put in...

Do u know its on the tip of my tongue and i just cant remember the name of this drug grrrr.

Incidentally, I used to suffer from epilepsy in my adolescent years, but they could never find the cause. My present therapist thinks its the same emotional trigger as my anxiety. My very first attack happened after returning from a 2 week tour of Scotland in 1965 which was my first holiday without my mum, as my parents were separating. I also suffered at times of stress, such as exams and long journeys.

Was it Respiridone? I was on this and seem to recall being told to not be concerned about the "other" use of this drug.

It was very good. Gave me a good night's sleep, helped with anxiety, made food taste "YUM", but alas, it interfered with my main SNRI med resulting in spontaneous vomitting (unusual, but for me, a reality).

hi guys sorry ive took so long getting back to yous but i was away on holiday last week..

i eventually found out the name of the drug pregabilin or the other name for it is lyrica..

i foned the doc she knew the drug but its only licensed out to epilepsy sufferers.. but i tried the drug out voluntarily few years back for my panic attacks and wen i was at 50mgs wow it was brill no panic..

so my doctor is going to look into it to see if she can give it to me up to the 50mgs that i was on before...

if anyone is on this drug for panic attacks please reply and let me know how your doing on it..

is it called pregabalin or lyrica

Could it be klonipin or clonazepam. it is an anti seizure and anxiety drug.

I know that this is an old post but my mum was prescribed a drug that is used for epilepsy and it is called Lamotrigine , it has been fantastic for her and she suffered no side effects... I hope this helps x

Hi there. I live in Italy and my psychiatrist prescribed me Lyrica for anxiety. He says that it is now used for GAD but that since I suffer from panic attacks with agoraphobia it would be best for me to combine it with an ssri as it has not been proven effective for panic disorder. He said that it was useful as an alternative to the diazapams as it relieves symptoms but is non-habit forming. I have had the box sitting next to my bed for a month now but have been too afraid to try it. I started escitalipram in december and had a panic attack after taking it and have not been able to take even a vitamin since.
