Have a great Christmas, Toby. The distractions should be good for you.
Like has been said the blips are going to come but it's learning to keep going, not fall into old traps and how you handle them that comes with time & practice.
...and get and use that anusol! :yesyes:
Have a wonderful Christmas Toby.
Hi everyone,
I've been doing a lot better recently, haven't seen blood, the colon cancer fears really bears no worry to me at the moment- although I don't want to jinx anything or tempt fate
I am, however, putting my worries on to other people again it seems
My sister, who is 17, is experiencing stomach aches and diarrhoea and bloating a lot, from what I hear her telling my parents
She DID have a childhood cancer when she was younger (age 5) (Ganglioneuroblastoma) which gave her diarrhoea for the rest of her life due to the life-saving operation
But now she seems to be complaining about it more and more
A while ago, she was offered a colonoscopy on a check up, but I think this was because doctors just wanted to rule anything out because of her symptoms but forgot that she had those symptoms for life
I'm sorta worried that it's colon cancer or something because she's already had cancer before so... although before it was an intermediate tumour (between cancerous and non-cancerous)
So yeah I'm worrying again :(
No need to worry, it sounds as though the doctors have got this one.
She doesn't see them anymore, she was told that she's in the safe-zone... the colonosocpy offer was a few years ago but refused
but I'm scared that she either has colon cancer caused by the operations she had or something, colon cancer caused by her faulty genes, or just colon cancer, period
Obviously she's had bowel issues since the operation in like 2008 and it could be IBS but alarm bells are kinda ringing in my head
In the nicest possible way, this isn't your business. It's up to your sister and your parents.
Well I've stopped worrying about that for now at least
Now I'm sort of split between worries about myself, and my mum
Myself: I went to toilet earlier, it was kinda hard but not thick, and there was some red on it. I checked the rest of it and there was some red pepper underneath it but I'm scared that it was pepper and blood. It's really hard for me to type that, because now I can see how gross it is to type about that online, as I've spent so long not worrying about bowel cancer
My mum: She had an impacted tooth which has left her in a lot of pain, and on top of that she seems to look really ill with a cough, and she says she generally feels unwell... of course I'm jumping to 'cancer'
Did your mom have to take medication for her impacted tooth? Coughing and being ill isn’t uncommon in the winter months, as colds and other viruses run rampant this time of the year! If she’s unwell though I would suggest she see a doctor.
