To anyone having trouble starting Paroxetine for anxiety, start on 5mg.

I've had so much trouble getting on Paroxetine in the past, but my new Psychiatrist said that they have learned that most anxiety disorders do better when starting on 5mg. I was hesitant at first, but tried to start Paroxetine at only 5mg. So far I'm on Day 4 and I feel pretty great as far as anxiety goes, not having the usual panic startup symptoms.

I've also met a lot of people that have taken ONLY 5mg for their anxiety and never had to up the dose. Makes me curious about how many people might be on too high of a dosage when it comes to meds because of the so called "therapeutic dose," which never made any sense to me because our body chemistry makes us all react differently to meds and have much different sensitivity levels, so while one persons therapeutic dose might be 20, another persons might be 10. This applies to all meds. Just a theory.
