Had a sore throat for a few weeks now. Spoken with the nurse as GP is not taking appointments and she seems to think I have a virus. In my mind it's something far worse. Felt ok yesterday and day before although my throat was still red and swollen. But today I just want to cry.....
It probably is just a virus. Have you tried gargling with salt water?
But can a virus last for so long? ☹

Pollen has been through the roof recently and Hayfever can cause a post nasal drip, resulting in a sore throat or constantly having to clear your throat.
Last year I had a sore throat which lasted 6 weeks. I thought it would never go. The doctor said it was a virus and some viruses linger for quite a while. Hope you feel better soon.
