Cars Cars Cars
It's about everything and anything to do with cars. No politics. No anxiety (unless it's over a car repair bill). No music, sports, food, health...
What car do you drive? What car do you like? What cars did you drive? Car troubles. Auto insurance. Repair questions. Cars cars cats...no not cats! Cars!
I drive two. I have a sub-compact commuter. A Honda I bought new in 2011 which now has 268,000 miles on it and purrring. I do a lot of driving yes. And I have a pick up truck. A RAM 1500. Both fun to drive. Gas here now is about $2.75 a gallon. My Honda gets about 40 miles a gallon. The PU about 18 but on the highway the engine drops from 8 cylinders to 4 for much better fuel economy. The technology is amazing.

Hi Noivous :)
I'd like to know a bit more about the iconic British Mini.
I've always liked them and wondered if anyone had one to recommend which versions are best?
And I can recommend any cat from the Maine Coon family as being hypoallergenic. Oops, sorry you meant cars not cats? :D naughty me :noangel:

Re: Cars Cars Cars
Carnation😍! How are you sweet friend?
I must have confused you when I said my car was purrring😁
I'm assuming you're talking about the Mini Cooper? They've actually become popular here in the last 15 years or so. I've not driven one but they look like a blast. Got into an impromptu race on the freeway with a girl who was driving one a couple of years ago...yes I won. And Matt Damon drove one in a high speed chase in the Jason Borne series. Is that how you picture yourself when you get yours... driving gloves, dark glasses, scarf?

Re: Cars Cars Cars
I have 2. The one I drive is a 2002 VW which was my Dads before he died. I love it because it was his, and it’s a great zippy little old lady! I just spent over £200 getting it through it’s MOT yesterday [emoji52].
I love how it’s satnav (GPS) always takes me the scenic route whatever I do, I always think it’s some kind of mischief from my Dad!). Plus it’s very economical (apart from the mot bill!).

Whoa! 6&7 bucks a gallon! Ever think of getting a compact car?
Hey Scass
Is the VW a diesel? My dad had an 01 Golf TDi before he stopped driving. Great little car.
The earliest model car I ever owned was a 1964 Chevy Biscayne w/3 on the tree.

Re: Cars Cars Cars
No it’s a petrol, but it’s a tiny engine and I don’t drive it far!

We have 2 German Shepherds so a compct just wouldn't work.
They're both 4 litre petrol Navaras.
Mine is a 6 speed manual which isn't too bad on fuel but the wifes automatic uses about 50% more fuel.
I also have an old 1986 single cab diesel Navara that we use on the beach.
Does 110 kph down hill with a tail wind.
My first car was a 1960 Mini.
It was a POS.
English cars just aren't made for Aussie conditions.
