2 bowel movements a day?

Hi guys. I am thin, 20 year old male. Non-smoker/no alcohol etc. overall good condition.
This week I started uni again, and a couple days before (Saturday) I started getting a lot of burping/gas - have been going to the toilet twice a day on most of these days over the last 5 days or so. Burping has reduced now, but still am pretty gassy. Stools are normal colour/consistency - maybe slightly on the hard side. Any ideas what it could be due to?

A heads up is that around this time I'm pretty anxious/nervous so maybe this has to do with it?

Hi thyer64, sounds like anxiety/nerves to me. Try not to worry.. i go to the toilet twice a day sometimes even when im not nervous lol. Good luck at Uni :)

Sounds like IBS triggered by anxiety. I've read it's very healthy to have more than one bowel movement a day by the way.

Do you know how many people on these boards would love to have two BM's a day? Count it a blessing son...and poop with impunity. :)

2 times a day sounds great...why is that a problem? It's a normal, healthy amount.
