CBT4PANIC Professional Online CBT Treatment Plan for Panic Disorder & Agoraphobia
CBT4PANIC Professional Online CBT Treatment Plan for Panic Disorder & Agoraphobia
In over 16 years online, No More Panic has never recommended any of the so called online ‘miracle-cures’ for anxiety.
What we have always recommended is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) because it is clinically proven to be very effective and is the treatment of choice for the majority of health organisations worldwide. In the UK the National Institute for health and Care Excellence guidelines (N.I.C.E) recommends CBT for most anxiety and mood disorders.
Unfortunately there are very long waiting lists for CBT therapists and we can’t guarantee that the particular CBT therapist a GP may allocate to you will be right for you.
A while ago we were given the chance to test out an online CBT programme and many members of NMP found it extremely helpful. You can read many of posts about CBT4PANIC here ……

We believe that CBT4PANIC is a viable option to face to face therapy. It was created by professional CBT therapists and accredited psychotherapists and it stays faithful to the CBT treatment plan for anxiety and panic disorder used world wide.
The programme is once again completely FREE!

Nic,
What about the free versions of CCBT that are endorsed by the NHS & NICE? These are free or free where registered to a GP practice.

I think you should also rethink your statement about waiting times as that is not strictly true thesedays with IAPT in play and from some of us on here. In my city it is 3 months for CBT for instance but for some it is still 12+ months which is pretty disgraceful now there is the IAPT framework which only came in to reduce those waiting times. Another NHS governance failure really.
I think the programmes endorsed by the NHS themselves should be promoted on here as they have been obviously reviewed by suitably trained individuals.
There are more documented on the NICE website. I can't remember whether there was any charging.

The waiting times are still long from my experience and as you say some wait up to 12 months so the statement is not false.
I have no problem with advertising any treatment that is available and now you have given the links people can take a look at them too.

It's false in the sense that it is general, thats what I meant. It would be false to claim we can all access them quickly simply because some can. Its of course up to you.
The link I posted is only an example, there are more out there. I remember NICE had a couple of other names, one was for OCD, another for depression (I think), not all are accessible for people outside the UK though.

I used this site for resources and Help ,
Whilst the practicals wouldnt be accessible to all as its regional , i happen to know that most local community care in the NHS will offer 6 weeks of 4 hour sessions in local towns and the nurses or leads have all been trained via Dr Jim white who is a leading figure in UK understanding and treatment of Anxiety panic and stress and is behind the resources in some manner on the Steps site and the site i link below, The community NHS course i went on as mentioned above also used the resources on the site so they are very well thought of in the NHS.
Of course for me everything i have done and will do will always need a teaspoon of NMP for good measure :).
Good resources especially the breathing audio and a really great idea thats helped me many a time in the form of a Panic Card :)
