Loss of sensation of needing to 'go', and narrow stool
I'm starting to worry a bit now... I've had very narrow stool for a week and a half, and I've been having no sensation of needing to go at all. I go for my first wee in the morning, push a bit just to see, and there it is. On the plus side, the awful pelvic pain I'd been getting periodically for months before seems to have eased. I am just occasionally a little bit crampy at the moment. I was diagnosed with IBS about 20 years ago, I tend towards constipation (unless I eat veg!). So, this is a new thing for me, and it's always a bit worrying when that happens :-/
Re: Loss of sensation of needing to 'go', and narrow stool
A few weeks ago I also felt like I loss the sensation to go, I literally forced myself. Eventually the urge came back, but definitely not as often as it did before. I still have narrow/flat poop though. Ever so often I'll get a thicker one, but more often than not it's either really loose or skinny/flat. I think either I focus too much on it and am forcing it or my stool is pretty soft, so it gets squished the it comes out. At least that's what I'm hoping haha.

Hi. I have ibs, and have been experiencing the narrow stools as well. I started taking metamucil and that seemed to help. I think alot of it is my anxiety too. Positive vibes

Thanks for your replies, it helps to know it’s not just me (but horrible that others have problems too ). I have never had this before, new symptoms are always a worry! Another week has gone and it’s still the same.

Hello, I know this is an old post but what was the outcome? The past week I feel like I've lost sensation to have a bowel movement and I'm scared

You don't need to know the outcome. That is counterproductive to you, even searching for these threads. You don't have a physical problem Chlobo.
