Problems swallowing food and liquids.

Hello all, I have been having ongoing problems swallowing food and liquids since march. The left side of my throat feels blocked/muscles feel like they are not working. I have been having the sensation that food/liquid is going up my nose and the sense that liquid is entering my lungs with the urge to cough every time I drink. I had a modified barium swallow last month which was completely normal with no evidence of aspiration or clearance issues. I was diagnosed with Functional Dysphagia and told that this was most likely cause by hypersensitivity. I am very skeptical of this diagnosis and unfortunately my symptoms have not improved. Has anyone else experienced this? Would it be worth getting a second opinion. I am a 27 year old male who is horrified of ALS lol.
