Just need to know if I’m being a bit crazy

Basically, I can feel my cervix, it’s bumpy kinda and just a bit odd tbh. Well I don’t know if it’s odd because I don’t know what it’s supposed to feel like anyway It caused me panic for over a week I wasn’t sleeping or eating so I decided to go to the doctors, she give me an internal and said it all looked healthy and nothing to worry about at all and she couldn’t even see what I was talking about, I can still feel bumps etc and now I’m worried that maybe she’s missed something or lying to me? She had a proper good look down there and I do want to believe her but something is telling me maybe she missed something although she’s one of the best doctors at my surgery and I do trust her. Please help, I can’t stop checking it, seeing if it feels different etc, I just want to move on with my life and forget and stop checking it, but I just can’t.

You are in an HA spiral of constant checking. Been there done that loads of times. When I think how much of my life I have wasted on worrying/checking/reassurance for things which seemed important at the time but looking back were so silly. You must accept that the doctors are very experienced in these matters and know what they are looking for. The cervix is very easy for them to see and if there was a problem she would tell you, no doctor would lie. Just accept this and please try and get help for your anxiety.

The real question and issue here is why are you doing such a personal and invasive self checking behavior? That alone, especially after a medically professional has cleared you, is the real issue here and needs to be addressed.

Absolutely! I have done similar really weird stuff in the past that I’m even too embarrassed to mention on here. But my high state of anxiety/ocd at the time meant for me it seemed perfectly ok to be doing. Some form of CBT should probably help the OP with this hopefully, it certainly did me.

I’m not sure. I have 3 little bumps, they aren’t visible clearly so must be tiny but in my head bigger. I just don’t want to leave it alone incase what I’m feeling gets bigger in a few weeks and then I go back to square one with my health anxiety. I’m scared to accept this could be a normal issue incase it jinxes it and I’m actually unwell. My life is becoming intolerable and I actually can’t cope with the anxiety constant what ifs, worrying daily, I don’t do anything apart from sit and worry. This isn’t living anyway.

Hey. Just had to reply to this, I've done the cervix exam too and also have bumpy things, 3 or 4. I asked my doctor who said its very normal, and they can fluctuate in size with hormones. My last smear was clear too. So don't worry, I think its quite normal! I mean us prodding ourselves not so much haha, but as for the bumpy bits I wouldn't worry x

Lol!! I wish I could never bloody feel the thing [emoji1787] that makes me feel better! The doctor couldn’t see anything but I can definitely feel them, I think they are bigger in my head! Thank you that makes me feel better, maybe I’m not gonna die after all [emoji23] x

I Literally don’t know how you feel your cervix but I’m impressed lol. I once took a mirror down there and freaked myself out so bad. I mean it looked so not what I was expecting. That sent me into a spiral and I rushed to my OB who said I was completely normal. Apparently you can have varicose veins in your bits and it’s quite common. The lesson here is don’t look as your bits in a mirror ever. And don’t do invasive checks. I’m sure your fine.
