Bruise after blood test in A&E ☹️
Ok so I was in A&E on Thursday. I had my bloods taken three times, all out of my hands because IÂ’m tricky for getting any out of my arms, any way I noticed a small bruise appearing on my little finger knuckle yesterday and I didnÂ’t think anything of it, until this evening, when itÂ’s now actually quite a large section of my two knuckles of my two littlest fingers. It was two small bruises, but now itÂ’s a large patch about 2-3 inches, which is kind of pinky brown.
Now my question is, is it normal to get bigger and darker over time? ItÂ’s been a couple of days. IÂ’m not usually a bruiser.
trying not to panic, nor google I just donÂ’t want to be still bleeding, I really donÂ’t know. 😫
many thanks
Re: Bruise after blood test in A&E ☹️
So presumably your bloods taken in A&E were completely normal?
Re: Bruise after blood test in A&E ☹️
I went in with chest pains, and docs were testing my heart cuz I was having so many ectopics. My bloods were only about my heart, they were fine. Thank goodness.
Re: Bruise after blood test in A&E ☹️
So are you worried about a blood disorder now?

Am I sensing slight sarcasm?
any way no, as my question stated, is it normal for a small bruise from a blood test to get bigger over time?
that is all

Hello! I tend to bruise easily after blood draws and injections so I think I can help answer your question. Yes, it is normal for a bruise to get larger over the course of a few days, and then progressively shrink/ get lighter over the course of two or tree weeks following.

Sarah, I don't think Pulisa was being sarcastic. I was thinking the same thing as I read your post. Why else would you be worrying about this? This is how HA works.
You got the all clear with your heart so your HA mind needs something else to latch onto and it has done exactly this..

As Nora says I was actually challenging your HA. You interpreted it as sarcasm but challenging HA yourself is so important in order to manage it consistently and successfully.

I’m sorry for the sarcasm comment. Once I saw your reply I realised what you were doing. It’s very hard to challenge your own HA, it creates a dark veil over your eyes and blocks out any rational thinking. I’m sorry.
