Want to stop taking propranalol
Started taking propranalol 3 weeks ago for anxiety - have been taking 10mg tablet once or twice a day (as and when needed). This week I saw my gp as didn't feel they were doing much. She said I could take 20mg two or three times a day. I took 20mg once yesterday and twice today but feel more anxious than usual and want to stop taking them. Can I just stop or do I have to do this gradually?
Re: Want to stop taking propranalol
Hi, you can check my earlier posts from this week in this section for more information about propranolol, generally. Speaking more specifically, you may discuss your GP if he would try with you the whole-day propranolols (Beta Progane, Bedranol). If not even the whole day ones didn't work, you may discuss with your GP if he would try with you something which worked for me when I had overwhelming anxieties... It was called Lyrica (active substance is pregabaline) and according to my experience with this, it worked quite similar to diazepams, but with much less side effects (speaking hereby merely from my own personal experience)...
