Adult tonsillectomy

Hi everyone,

I'm on day 11 of recovery from my tonsillectomy. Its been painful at times. Today is the first day I've not had to take pain meds.
My issue is, since I came out of the surgery I've had a film covering my tongue and I've not been able to taste anything properly.
Some of you might remember me from a few years ago when I had an unexplained salty/metallic taste for 4 months. This caused me to have extreme ptsd.

I now have the same thing again. I know its probably down to the tonsillectomy. I still have a little of the scabby stuff at the back of my throat but not much. The back of my tongue in this area is furry and discoloured (has been from day 1) and I've brushed off as much as I can from the front of my tongue.

It's making my ptsd kick up in a big way and I need help mentally.
I need people who have had a tonsillectomy to out my mind at rest please. I just want it to go away. And the more I stress about it the worse it gets. I know logically it will go away at some point as it went before, however my head just isn't listening to reason from me.
