Amitriptyline with Escitalopram

For the past 4 years I have been taking Escitalopram 20mg with Amitriptyline 50mg. I was given the Amitriptyline because I had trouble staying asleep with the Escitalopram and found the Amitriptyline all but solved my migraine problem.

Four years on the GP is saying this is not a good combination and I have tried lowering the Amitriptyline but the migraines have returned. My GP is now going to quiz the Pharmacist about this combination to see how dangerous it is and whether I could lower the Escitalopram instead. Any one else had this combo please?

I have but not for long. Or I have taken Am with an SSRI before. Also for sleep. My gp said it was quite safe.
