Hoarse Voice/Thyroid Nodule
Hi!
So, I made a post a few months ago about a thyroid nodule that was discovered. I haven’t had any pain or anything, and I’m going back in September to have an ultrasound again & make sure nothing has changed.
I’ve been increasingly anxious, however, about hoarseness I get off and on.
I have had swallowing issues/that “lump in throat” feeling for years with my anxiety, and also experience a lot of sinus problems. Lately, though, I keep worrying that it could be related to the nodule/a sign of cancer. I know hoarseness can be tied to anxiety, but my brain is being sort of irrational. I do almost always notice it on high stress days, or days where I’ve talked a lot, had to raise my voice a bit for someone in the other room.
Any words of wisdom to calm myself? I’m failing hard :(

You recognize what the issue is. That's the best wisdom you can get. Keep telling yourself that.

Thank you so much for replying!!
I feel so silly jumping from one thing to the next. I know my anxiety makes me tense in the neck, and honestly I’ve experienced some hoarseness on and off for a few years. I’m a quiet person, and raising my voice even a tiny bit makes me feel strained and hoarse. I used to sing a lot, and on top of that unfortunately ended up in a lot of situations where I was yelling and definitely straining my vocal cords. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what causes my hoarseness now. It’s just really easy to jump to my fears of cancer. :weep:
