Worried I have an underactive thyroid and it has damaged my heart

Over the last 6 months I have put on over a stone (even though my diet hasn't changed) have had aches in my leg, back and shoulders and have been feeling very tired and weak. In addition to this, I have been experiencing depression symptoms as well as the usual anxiety. My other half has an underactive thyroid and he said he had these symptoms before he went on the tablets for it so I think I could have it too.

The earliest the Dr can see me is 17th September and then I will have to wait for blood test results (if he thinks I need a blood test) and I am worrying that if I do have an underactive thyroid and its not being treated that it is damaging my heart (I have been having chest pains for a few days, but I suspect those are most likely due to anxiety!)

I feel really fed up and on edge. I am nervous about going to the doctor in case 'anything else' is wrong and the idea of waiting for blood test results makes me feel physically sick.
