First time taking an anti anxiety med and was wondering if I should cut the pill in half and start slow. Or just take the 10mg that was prescribed starting out? What do you guys suggest?

I guess it depends how sensitive you are to meds.
I’m extremely sensitive.
I came off Escitalopram in Feb after being on them 13ish years 5mg but my anxiety got so bad I restarted them back in June. I didn’t start with 5mg though. I actually started by taking the most smallest amount and eventually increased it. Though I’m still not taking 5mg a day I’m taking just under 2.5mg. Silly really as I’m doing myself no favours but I do feel better than I did

I did for maybe 6 weeks? Then went up to 7.5 ish, then 10, now 15, and contemplating going to 20. I've been on it since late May. Before that, I was on 40 mg of Citalopram for 5 years.
It probably will lessen your side effects if you start low. The downside, is it will take longer for you to get to your ideal dosage.
