Is it normal to have strange coloured stools and also is it normal for food to go right through. I had pie,pes and gravy last night and i know its tmi but my stools were green this morning i.e from the peas. Its like my foods are passing through my bowels too fast. I also always have an ache/pain down on my left side.
Hi Zippy, yes stools can come out reflecting the colour of food we have eaten, as for the fast transit, Anxiety will send it through fast and give you the trots as well, so will mushy peas and chips.
Your bowels are like another part of your mind and react very quickly to you emotions.

Zippy,I think you should speak to your Doctor about this,and try to eat a healthier diet, pie and peas is yummy but difficult to digest, especially peas and beans, and pastry can make you feel bloated. Eat more fresh foods and plenty fibre:)
Despite severe anxiety,I actually have an underactive bowel problem, and the combination is horrendous, I'd love that nervous tummy thing back to clear out my bowels:weep:
Left-side pain can be a symptom of diverticular disease, needs checking out or it can develop into diverticulitis.. however it is more likely to be from trapped wind due to bowel spasms caused by your anxiety:shrug: Trapped wind can cause the nausea too!
