Question: is it normal for biopsies to be taken during colonoscopy?
After posting a note on the endoscopy thread about how swimmingly the endoscopy and colonoscopy went on Friday to reassure those of you who were scared if the procedures, im now worried as to why they took biopsies from several places in colon and duodenum ( lower stomach). Does anyone know why they take these biopsies despite telling you everything looks fine?!?
Grateful for your thoughts...

They will still do a biopsy to be 100% sure but if they say everything looks fine then it usually is fine. I had a biopsy taken even though they said it looked fine and yes it was fine.

Yes they took biopsies when they gave me a colonoscopy. They suspected from my symptoms and family history that I had Crohn's Disease but in the end they never found anything and put my symptoms down to IBS and nerves.
