Period or spotting?

Can anyone tell me what is considered bleeding after sex? I mean is it always immediate or is 18 hours later still considered 'after sex'. I was very dry yesterday morning when we had sex and really in hindsight I should have just put a hold on it until I bought lube. I've never been dry before even though I'm 51. My last period was about 2 weeks ago.
Roughly 18hrs after sex I wiped and there was a trace of brownish blood. I mean a tiny trace. Since then I've had a little more of the brownish red staining when I wipe. A tiny bit on a pad but not much. Just a few spots. If I thought it was the beginnings of another period I would be ok. It happened before and gp said it was ok at my age. I had an ultrasound about 8 months ago and all they found was a couple of small fibroids. I had my routine smear 7 weeks ago but with a backlog no results from that yet. I am waiting to hear back on that before rushing to the gp.

Any perimenopausal women with some wisdom? I'm not panicking but as we all know unexpected blood/staining is always a shock and a bit of a worry.

Sounds like it’s to do with being dry…… or hormones. Spotting is normal in peri menopause I told….
