Been on it for about a week. .05 mg. I’ve noticed some increased anxiety and racing heart. I’m not sure if this is an initial side effect that will eventually go away. I’ve noticed a difference overall but I feel like the slightest movement and my pulse shoots up. Anyone have any experience with this
Clonidine is primarily a blood pressure medication which dilates blood vessels and lowers the heart rate consequently the heart may need to beat a little faster when active, though I suspect your heart rate isn't that much faster than it used to be, you're just more aware of it.Quote:

It has no direct impact on the underlying biological trigger of anxiety (also depression), but mostly works by blocking the adrenaline surge of the 'flight-or-fight' response and by sedation. Beta-blockers work the same way. About 15-20% of those prescribed clonidine experience heightened anxiety.
