Penile cancer, STD or something else?
Okay heres how it all started, around last week, I scratched the side of my penis with my fingernail. At first I thought it bled, but it didnt. Fast forward a few days later, I noticed that my upper left quarter of the shaft, near the head, has gotten quite raw and reddened and it seems to be affecting a larger area than the area I scratched on accident...I'm really concerned it could be something serious, like an STD, or penis cancer. The thing that is concerning me is how non specific my symptoms are, they can be literally anything.
Re: Penile cancer, STD or something else?
Penile cancer at any age is very rare. It's about 1 in 100,000 or less. It almost always occurs in UNcut men, with ohimosis and poor hygiene and multiple infections Balanitis. The lesion occurs mostly under the foreskin. So imho we can rule that out.
You scratched your penis and noticed a cut in the same area a few days later. Logic dictates it's related.
If you're sexuwlly active you should be having annual STI/HIV testing, or more i.e. Bianually or every 3 months depending on how 'active' you are
Good luck

Should read phimosis. This is where the foreskin can't be retracted at all for cleaning etc
